A Different Kind of Hard

Understanding the role of men in our culture (or in a world of 'multiculturalism') is difficult enough without radical feminism, post-modernism (the idea that your truth is just as good as any other truth and how dare you say its not!), mass market pornography, the demise of the traditional family and lack of real principled roll models making things harder. Today the average American boy, teenager, man, turns on the television or looks out his window to find nothing but men dumbed down, materialistic, sex crazed and stupid. They are made out to be victims of life or their environment or the mean treatment of others who are just so 'intolerant.' Men who refuse to play the role of victim face the thin ice of a country where the legal system, both criminal and civil has warped into a corrupt piggy bank for every Tom, Dick and Harry who has a gripe against his fellow man. Act like a man should and take a stand to defend the decent, the moral or the fair, and you'll probably find yourself staring down the brief of the suit filed against you by the ACLU, jeopardizing your ability to pay for those selfish habits you and your kids have, like eating, covering your body with clothing, and living in something other than a cardboard box. It seems like everyday its something else.
But never fear, men! This sophisticated society has solutions to these and all of life's problems!

"Life got you down fella? Drink a tall, cool beer! Join a gym! Get fit! Focus on your inner you! Find that special lady, or two, or heck, three or four! Heck, maybe even another special fella, nudge nudge, wink wink ! Why limit yourself? Besides, you have choices! You know you best! Get out there and land that special high paying job! You deserve it! After all, you are you and you are special! Special enough to have that car you love but can't hope to pay for! Marriage? Kids? Who has the time? Too much hastle! There's money to make and manage! Fantasy football leagues to spend countless hours on! Golf to be played! Remember you are special! Be proud you're special. Be especially proud! And if for some reason some mean bank or credit card company decides they actually should be reimbursed for the money you borrowed from them, we have solutions for that too! And on and on and on....
Men, by our very nature we give in to our passions and desires for this life at hand and think nothing of the life to come. We crush underfoot our moral compass given to us by God so we can file for the insurance money and get that GPS we've always wanted.
The goal of THT is to provide answers how, as men tired of living as slaves to the passions, prejudices, and pride of our own hearts, to find our way back to being real men, for ourselves, our families, our children, and our society, and our world. To be at peace with ourselves again. To stop relying on pop-culture psychology, mysticism, and prescription drugs to cure our troubles.
"Is there a different solution? A solution specific to my problem or problems," say you?
The answer men (and women) is yes. The solution isn't hard to understand like calculus or the course you took in high school or college that you just couldn't wrap your head around. Nor do you need a psychology degree to understand it or to effectively blame your parents for it.

No, this truth is a different kind of hard.

This truth is foolish. It's ridiculous. It makes no sense. It shouldn't be true. Everything you desire in life and want for yourself runs contrary to it. It's obsurdity nearly causes you to not even bring yourself to think or talk about it for fear you'll embarass yourself to yourself for giving it a second thought. To think about it feels like the dream you have where you're at work and forgot to wear pants.

But the reality is, this hard truth is ACUTALLY true. It's the 'true truth.'

It's the 'red pill' (quoting a recent Hollywood picture) you swallow, given to you to take, that gives you eyes to see.
