Merciful Warning

The earthquake in Haiti is a horrible event. Many people have and continue to lose their lives. But the true message of this earthquake and its horrific aftermath is not the how the world can rally together to help these poor people.

It is that this could at any moment happen to us. And it will.

This is a merciful warning by the Lord to the rest of the world. Jesus answered the questions posed to him about why people would be allowed to be killed if God was loving and merciful. He answered in Luke 13:4 & 5,

"Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them--do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish." - NIV

The message is that God is in charge. We are not. No matter how much we would like to believe that we are the one's guiding our destiny, this is a false belief.
Trust in the Lord and ask for His grace to forgive you of all the wrongs you have done. All the sin in your life. For the next earthquake may make your house fall down. Your country fall into ruin.

Pray for the people of Haiti and ask that the Lord have mercy on the survivors. Pray that many come to know Christ through this tragic event.
