Central Core Myopathy

On Friday of last week we were informed by our doctors that our little boy Jace has been diagnosed through a muscle biopsy done during his surgery with Central Core Myopathy (CCD). This is the mildest form of Muscular Dystrophy and results in general muscle weakness and a problem with, of all things joints and hips. It is not a progressive (in most cases) disease and is wide ranging as to its effects, depending on the severity. It is generally not life threatening, and Jace could live a largely normal life, or be as limited as never being able to walk. Of course, we are praying for normal.

We would ask that everyone who knows us, and those of you who don't but visit this blog, please pray for our little boy. We ask specifically that prayers focus on asking God to spare him the life of limited mobility and grant him the freedoms to enjoy his life and be a boy and a man with legs and muscles that will carry him. We know that God is in control of all of this and we know that we must and do trust in Him to fulfill the plan He has for our lives, and Jace's. We just hope it's one that includes healthy life for our boy.

Thank you for the prayers and the care you've taken to click on the ads on this blog in support of our efforts with Jace, and we ask that you continue to do so. It is greatly appreciated!

More updates to come...
